The NIH Library in Building 10 serves the information needs of NIH staff and select Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies. For more information about modeling and printing at the NIH Library, visit. The library also makes available free plastic 3D printing on a Makerbot Replicator 2, Replicator 2x, and Stratasys uPrint. The library currently offers a variety of modeling programs, both free and licensed, in Pod 1. The NIH Library supports technology education like 3D modeling through its Technology Hub. The NIH Library has this licensed software available in Pod 1 as a part of the Technology Hub tools. Thursday, March 3, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., the NIH Library will host a demonstration to help beginners start 3D modeling for printing. Autodesk Maya is a powerful modeling tool best known for film animation, but can be used to create 3D models suitable for printing on the NIH Library's 3D printers.
